Akari Chargers team captain Michelle Cobb reassured fans of her well-being after suffering an apparent neck injury during their recent match against the Nxled Chameleons in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Cobb sustained a neck injury when she got stuck during a roll while attempting to save the ball. At the time, Akari was ahead 5-3 in the second set. She was carried off the court on a stretcher with a neck brace applied by the league’s medical team.

The 25-year-old libero was brought to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center for further X-ray and CT scans.

The Chargers went on to win in four sets against the Chameleons, 21-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-18.

Since then, Cobb has given a positive update on her social media about her condition.

Sharing a cozy photo with her pet dachshund, Nala, she expressed gratitude for the well wishes and assured everyone that she would be okay.

"Thank you everyone for all your well wishes! I will be okay! Nala is here to help hehe," Cobb wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji.

It’s still unclear when Cobb will return to action for Akari but her squad will have over a week off before their next match against the Capital1 Solar Spikers at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on February 1.
