Losing the cat-quick guard would've been a big blow.
De Salle Green Archers guard Mark Nonoy's unsportsmanlike foul in their game against the Ateneo Blue Eagles was reclassified to a level three, the UAAP Basketball Commissioner’s Office announced on Tuesday.
“Mark Nonoy was assessed with an unsportsmanlike foul, marking his ‘second infraction’ at the 7:36 mark of the second quarter,” the statement said.
“In adherence to the guidelines set by the UAAP Basketball Commissioner’s Office, aimed at excluding all Category Three (stopping a fastbreak) and Category Four (clear path) unsportsmanlike fouls from accumulation, Nonoy’s second infraction has undergone reclassification,” it added.
This means that even though it's Nonoy's second unsportsmanlike foul, he won't be automatically suspended in their next game.
The infraction happened when Nonoy fouled Ateneo’s Ian Espinosa during a layup attempt. La Salle won the rivalry match, 72-69, to complete the team’s second-round sweep.

Nonoy's first unsportsmanlike foul happened last November 5 against the UP Fighting Maroons.
The second-seeded Green Archers have a twice-to-beat edge against the third-seeded NU Bulldogs in the Final Four. They will face off this Saturday.
