And when you thought the BINI craze in the world of sports was over, Angel, Shevana, Thea, and the rest of the DLSU Lady Spikers finally entered their BINI era.
No crown, no frown. The DLSU Lady Spikers’ reign may have paused, but their spirits never waver.
After their tough five-set loss against the UST Golden Tigresses in a pulse-racing virtual best-of-three semis showdown, the DLSU squad fell from their throne as the defending champions.
As heartbreaking as it is, their will remains indomitable, believing that setbacks are just setups for epic comebacks.
“Syempre, nakakalungkot din po ‘yong nangyari. Hindi kami dito titigil. It serves as a motivation for all of us,” said Angel Canino to One Sports, who recently recovered from her arm injury.
Now that their well-fought run in the collegiate tournament has come to an end, the green and white squad took a much-needed timeout as volleyball stars for a while and embodied their new roles as BINI dancers.
On their TikTok accounts, Angel, Shev, and the rest of the DLSU Lady Spikers groove on the floor with their BINI dance moves in P-pop’s hit songs, Pantropiko and Salamin.
Sa wakas, may entry na!
The fans have been noticing the hidden dance talents of the Lady Spikers. They can’t help but compare it to the dance moves of the Lady Spikers in the previous seasons, such as PLDT’s Kim Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron.
“‘Di ako sanay na marunong sumayaw ‘yong mga Lady Spikers,” jokingly commented a TikTok user.
“Hindi itong Lady Spikers ang kilala ko. Bat ang gagaling niyong sumayaw? Turuan niyo mga ates niyo," was jestedly added by another fan.
All jokes aside, we cannot wait to witness the dance showdown among the generations of the DLSU Lady Spikers.
Isang Pantropiko naman diyan!
