De La Salle University has officially secured Fil-Bulgarian hooper Alex Konov for the upcoming UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament.

In his Instagram post, Konov expressed how he is looking forward to joining the Topex Robinson-led Green Archers.

"I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to De La Salle University Manila in the Philippines,” Konov wrote in his post.

"Big thanks to Coach Topex and his staff for the opportunity, can’t wait to get to work," he added.

Konov will become eligible to compete from UAAP Season 87 onward for a total of five years of eligibility.

The addition of Konov to the DLSU Green Archers' roster brings a new dimension of talent and skill to the team.

With his length and outside shooting, Konov is poised to make a significant impact on the court in La Salle’s hopes of securing back-to-back titles.

Konov played for Gilas Youth in the FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship 2022, averaging 10.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

In his final year at Manasquan High School in New Jersey, he averaged 11.13 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

The 18-year-old is scheduled to join La Salle by the third week of July.
