The Adamson Lady Falcons triumphed over the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 59-53, in an overtime thriller during the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball stepladder semifinals on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Cheska Apag redeemed herself after a previous late-game misstep against UST. Facing a 47-49 deficit, Apag sank the crucial shot to force overtime, finishing with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Elaine Etang led the charge for Adamson, earning Player of the Game honors with 22 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
Despite reigning MVP Kacey Dela Rosa’s dominant performance of 19 points, 24 rebounds, and five steals, Ateneo fell short, ending their season.
Adamson, now one step closer to the Finals, will face the UST Growling Tigresses on December 4 in a battle for a spot in the championship.
