De La Salle Green Archers ramping up recruitment for Season 86

De La Salle Green Archers ramping up recruitment for Season 86

It was a disappointing Season 85 to say the least for DLSU, failing to make it to the Final Four after coming into the season with much hype.

For Season 86, the Green Archers will also no longer have the services of Schonny Winston, but not all hope is lost as La Salle is ramping up its recruitment efforts.

In his Instagram story, Winston gave his backing to DLSU’s new recruit in Geremy Robinson.

Robinson is a 6-foot-2 combo guard out of Hawaii. The Filipino-American guard will have at least four years of eligibility, as he’ll be playing straight out of high school.

Meanwhile, another Phillips could be added to the team. Mike and Ben Phillips are already showing off their talents in Taft, and it seems like their brother, Isaiah, is on the way, too.

On his Instagram account, Isaiah shared a photo with the caption, “5 months loading." To spice it up, he also included a bow-and-arrow emoji, a green heart, and the Philippine flag, which may all point to the Green Archers.

Phillips' 5-month countdown may pertain to the amateur leagues where DLSU could participate this year. There is no schedule yet for the 2023 PBA D-League. But in 2022, the Aspirants' Cup commenced in June. The Green Archers are also that tourney's defending champs, by the way.

Aside from Robinson and Phillips, other local recruits — and maybe also a new coach — are expected to join the Green Archers.
