The two certainly earned a breather.
Blacklist International will be without its two best players in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12. This developed after Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna and Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario decided to skip the tournament to take a much-deserved breather from competitive esports.
Blacklist International confirmed the two players’ absence in a statement posted on the team’s official Facebook page.
“Now that we’ve announced our official roster for MPL Season 12, we can now also confirm that VeeWise will not be participating in the upcoming season,” the statement said. “After the consecutive seasons and tournament grind of MPL S10, M4, MPL S11, and MSC, they [OhMyV33nus and Wise] wanted to take some time away to recharge and recover.”
The team also reiterated that it is behind the legendary duo, who has carried the Blacklist International brand with gusto over the years and won MPL titles in Seasons 7, 8, and 10.
“Though this was not an easy decision for them to make, we believe this is what’s best for them as players and individuals,” the statement further said. “They have the full support of their Blacklist International and Tier One Entertainment family, both in-game and out.”
Making up the Blacklist squad for MPL Season 12 will be Edward Jay "Edward" Dapadap, Kiel "Oheb" Soriano, Salic "Hadji" Imam, Renejay "Renejay" Barcarse, Lee Howard "Owl" Gonzales, Kenneth Carl "Yue" Tadeo, Russel "Eyon" Usi, Kim "Kimpoy" Dela Cruz, and Stephen "Sensui" Castillo.
Dexter "Dex Star" Alaba and Aniel "MasterTheBasics" Jiandani will comprise the coaching staff, along with the returning Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza.
Without VeeWise, Blacklist International figures to be in for a big challenge as it aims to improve on its runner-up finish in Season 11, where it lost to Echo in the grand finals.
