Home is always where the heart is for Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, as he makes his way back to MPL Philippines.
As one door closes, another one opens for Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera.
TNC announced they have signed Yawi after his departure from MPL Indonesian squad Team Liquid ID on Thursday, November 28.
The veteran roamer will make a Philippine homecoming after playing as an import for the team formerly known as Aura Esports in the last five months that included back-to-back MPL Indonesia titles.
“A world-class roamer who always gives everything in every match, not only for the team but also for the fans who always support. Your dedication, hard work, and fighting spirit have brought Team Liquid ID to a higher level, and that will always be a part of our journey,” Team Liquid wrote.
Aside from Yawi, the squad also bid farewell to EXP laner James "Jeymz" Gloria.
“Although our time together was relatively short, your contribution as an EXP laner has left a profound impression on Team Liquid ID. Your dedication and spirit show that you are an extraordinary person, and your presence will always be appreciated by us.”
Jeymz, who joined Team Liquid ID in MPL Season 14, was part of ECHO Proud who racked up back-to-back MDL Philippines titles last year.
Since joining MPL Philippines way back in Season 8, TNC placed eighth. The arrival of Yawi might be the answer to have a breakthrough campaign.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid ID are currently competing in the M6 World Championships in Malaysia where they are set to face Team Philippines’ Fnatic ONIC PH to start their Swiss Stage campaign.
