There's more to Dwight than being a star for Gilas Pilipinas and Levanga Hokkaido.
It started with a seal. Turns out, it's a sign that Dwight Ramos wants to make an impact beyond playing basketball.
The Gilas Pilipinas standout on Friday announced that he is planning to establish grassroots programs and a foundation with the help of his agency, Titan Management Group.
"No better way to build a legacy than to start early," Ramos wrote on both Facebook and Instagram.
"As I strive to be at my best on the court, creating a lasting impact to the next generation off the court will be my main priority," the basketball star added.
"These two areas will represent the plans I look forward to accomplishing. Excited to get things rolling!"
The grassroots programs would help Ramos connect with young players, while the yet-to-be named foundation would help "launch projects for the community." Funds would be sourced from merchandise Ramos will be releasing.
Last week, Ramos launched his personal badge for future projects.
"This mark represents the plans I have as an athlete and as someone wanting to make a lasting impact for others in ways both on and off the court," he said about his newly minted insignia.
Ramos just signed a new contract with Levanga Hokkaido for the next Japan B.League season. He was also called up for Gilas Pilipinas in preparation for the FIBA World Cup.
Things, indeed, are turning up roses for Ramos. Now, he is paying it forward.
