They also used the opportunity to invite viewers to watch and support Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup.
PBA legends Asi Taulava and Ranidel de Ocampo made a surprise appearance on EAT’s Babala: ‘Wag Kayong Ganuuun segment on Wednesday.
The two were put on the spotlight in the segment where they were asked to guess things about the featured five Dabarkads, who are all popular dancers on social media platform TikTok.
Unfortunately, they raced off to a sloppy start.
When host and former senator Tito Sotto asked them whether the first contestant was a volleyball or soccer champion, the two didn’t seem to know what to do.
“What do you think?” RDO asked Taulava.
Taulava said soccer, but they opted to go for volleyball which turned out to be wrong. In fact, they got the first two questions wrong.
“Maganda teamwork ninyo. Puro pasahan (ng sagot), puro assist,” Vic Sotto said in jest.
But the two PBA champions refused to back down. With their backs against the wall, they were determined not to go home empty-handed.
Tito asked: “Sino sa kanila ang dancer na consistent honor student?”
The duo seemed on the same page this time around, picking the son of former Sexbomb member Izzy, Andrei.
They got it right and earned a P30,000 prize.
At the end of the segment, Taulava and de Ocampo invited the viewers to watch and support Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup this August.
“I invite everybody to come out and watch… If you guys come watch the game, I’m pretty sure we can break the attendance record of 32,000,” Taulava said.
In its buildup for the said event in August, Gilas set a series of tune-up games in Eastern Europe. Slowly, the team is getting its groove but there's still much left to be desired.
