He was among the 671 students who graduated on Wednesday.
Barely a month since turning 30, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel star Scottie Thompson reached another milestone. This time, though, it's not basketball related.
On Wednesday, Thompson graduated from the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management.
He attended the graduation rites at the Plenary Hall of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex with wife Jinky.
The former NCAA MVP with Perpetual was also awarded the Dr/BGen Antonio Laperal Tamayo Leadership Plaque for Sports and Athletics.
“Gift ko itong pagtatapos ko ng college sa aming baby ni Jinky na si Aster Scottie Thompson,” said the PBA MVP in an article on the PBA website.
Owing to a metacarpal fracture in his right hand, Thompson will sit out Gilas Pilipinas’ trip to China, where they will face the national teams of Iran and Senegal.
He sustained the injury during the team's training camp in Lithuania as part of its preparations for the FIBA World Cup in Manila later this month.
