USA stepped on the gas pedal early and went untroubled on its way to a 141-45 win to oust Gilas Pilipinas Youth in the FIBA U17 World Cup at the Ahmet Comert Sports Hall in Turkey on Wednesday, July 3.

Koa Peat fired 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting to lead the way for the Americans who secured a seat in the quarterfinals.

Peat also had seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Brothers Cameron and Cayden Boozer combined for 32 points and eight rebounds while Jalen Haralson and Chris Cenac added 16 and 14 markers, respectively.

The Americans raced off to a scintillating 43-13 start and never looked back to carve out the smashing 96-point romp in the Round of 16 duel.

Team USA, which posted an 80-23 advantage at halftime, set up a quarters battle with the winner between Argentina and Canada.

The Filipino contingent simply did not stand a chance against the Americans, who refused to let up until the final buzzer.

Joaquin Ludovice paced Gilas with 15 points while Cletz Amos chipped in 10 markers.

Paul Diao and Edryn Morales combined for 13 points.

The Gilas boys will still see action in the classification round for the 9th to 16th place.
