The Gilas Pilipinas Boys' FIBA U17 World Cup campaign ended the way it started  with a blowout loss.

The youthful dribblers suffered another one-sided loss to Australia, 115-53, to settle for last place in the 16-team field at the Ahmet Comert Sports Hall in Istanbul on Sunday, July 7.

The Nationals, who had missed the services of gunner Kieffer Alas the entire tourney after the ace guard sustained a knee injury, wrapped up the competition with a 0-7 card.

They did show some promise in the early goings against the Aussies, though.

Irus Chua swished in a triple at the 7:32 mark of the opening period to keep things close, 10-7, before a 14-2 burst by Australia made it 24-9 entering the frame's last four minutes.

The Boomers then started kicking into high gear in the second quarter, with Joe Robinson uncorking a three-pointer that gave them a commanding 45-25 lead with still 3:11 left before the break.

It was all Australia from there, with the team leading by as many as 62 points after an easy deuce by Sa Pilimai with 1:50 seconds left in the match.

Dash Daniels led Australia’s assault with 28 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field he laced with four rebounds, four assists and six steals.

Nash Walker also chipped in four triples on his way to 18 points, while Alexander Dickeson had 11 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Robinson added a near triple double output of 11 points, nine rebounds and seven dimes.

Meanwhile, Edryn Morales paced Gilas with 17 points and nine rebounds. Joaquin Ludovice chipped in 10 points, six assists, three steals and two boards but turned the ball over seven times.
