Takahashi suffered a bad landing during a SuperLega match in Italy.
Star Japanese outside hitter Ran Takahashi vowed to come back stronger after suffering an ankle injury during a SuperLega match in Italy.
Takahashi, who plays for Mint Vero Volley Monza, seemingly twisted his ankle after jumping for an attack against the Rana Verona squad earlier this week.
Vero Volley confirmed he underwent a series of clinical tests to evaluate the extent of the left ankle injury.
On Thursday, Takahashi addressed the matter.
"I regret to inform you that my left ankle was injured during the game," he posted on Instagram.
"It is disappointing since the team as well as myself have been on a roll, but I will return stronger once I fully recover from my injury. Thank you for your continued love and support."
Vero Volley added Takahashi will be re-evaluated over the next weeks.
The squad though would have to power through as Vero Volley will be taking on Trentino Volley in the semifinals of Coppa Italia this Friday.
Meanwhile, the Japanese national volleyball team--where Takahashi is a standout--is expected to return to the Philippines this June 18-23 for VNL 2024, along with Brazil, Netherlands, France, Germany, Canada, Iran, and USA.
