Jia De Guzman's Denso Airybees finish 5th in Japan's V1

Jia De Guzman’s first international stint is officially with a top-5 Japanese team.

 

The Denso Airybees added one final loss to the playoff woes of the Hisamitsu Springs, scoring a 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 sweep Saturday to take fifth place in the 2023-24 V.League Division 1 season in Japan.

 

 

 

Brazilian import Rosamaria Montibeller led Denso with 17 points in the win. The Airybees improve from the previous season when they finished 6th with a 14-19 record.

 

Jia De Guzman saw action in two sets vs. Hisamitsu but didn’t score a point.

 

For the season, Jia played in 24 games and recorded a total of eight points from four attacks, three aces, and a block.

 

Denso made the V.Final Stage as the fifth-ranked team with a 12-10 record but lost to the Saitama Ageo Medics in the quarterfinals.
