Nowhere to go but up for Alex Eala in the latest WTA singles and doubles rankings.
Alex Eala is now reaping the fruits of her historic labor last weekend.
The top Pinay tennis ace soared to new heights following her triumphant twin-title campaign in the ITF W100 Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain.
Eala rose to a new-career high of no.143 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) latest singles ranking, 12 places better from her previous career best of 155th last week.
This is following the 19-year-old’s 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva of Andorra in the women’s singles finals.
But it was in doubles rankings where she made a huge leap, rising from No. 245 to 208.
The 19-year-old bagged his third doubles this year with Frenchwoman Estelle Cascino after the duo staved off Lia Karatancheva of Bulgaria and Diana Marcinkevica of Latvia, in a 6-3, 2-6, 10-4 marathon finals win.
“This win means the world to me, it even made me ugly cry,” Eala said on Instagram.

“Securing my biggest titles yet in both singles and doubles is a fairytale finish, and I’m overwhelmed with emotion,” she added.
Up next for the Asian Games doubles bronze medalist is the Polish Open in Warsaw where she is set to play Isabella Shinikova of Bulgaria in the opening round.
Eala and Latvian Darja Semenistaja, meanwhile, are also competing in the doubles and are up against Polish second seed Martyna Kubka and Weronika Falkowska.
