The wedding bells are ringing for world no. 1 pole vaulter Armand Duplantis and his fiancee Desire Inglander.
Armand Duplantis just keeps winning in the pole vaulting world and in life.
'Mondo’ is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Desire Inglander, as announced by lifestyle magazine Vogue Scandinavia on Friday, October 11.
It was just supposed to be a regular magazine shoot for the couple in the famous seaside resort of The Hamptons in New York until a surprise proposal from Duplantis to Inglander made the event an unforgettable one.
“The second after the Olympics was done, I was ready to do it.”
Besides being a double world and Olympic champion, the 24-year-old leaper capped off his 2024 campaign with a fourth Diamond League Trophy in Brussels, Belgium last month.
Recall how Duplantis became viral in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 not just for winning gold, not just for resetting the Olympic and world records, but also for his celebration where he ran to kiss Inglander.
Top Pinoy vaulter EJ Obiena was among the people to take part in celebrating the engagement of the couple.
“Congratulations,” Obiena commented, followed by a wine toast emoji.
The world no.4 pole vaulter’s 2024 season was cut short due a stress fracture injury in his spine but remained optimistic on returning to pain-free by next year.
