Team Asia’s Ko Pin-yi secured a hard-fought 5-3 singles victory over Francisco Sanchez Ruiz of Team Europe, adding another crucial point for Asia in Day 2 of the 2024 Reyes Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Wednesday, October 16.

Ko started strong, taking the first rack for an early lead, but Ruiz quickly responded by leveling the score at 1-1.

The Taiwanese star then shifted momentum in his favor, winning two consecutive racks to go up 3-1, putting pressure on the Spanish ace.

His triumph bolstered Team Asia’s lead to 5-2 in the race to 11, keeping their winning momentum alive as they battle against a determined Team Europe.

Next up will be the doubles match between Duong Quoc Hoang and Aloysius Yapp against David Alcaide and Eklent Kaçi.
