Carlo Biado and Aloysius Yapp outlasted Team Europe's Jayson Shaw and Eklent Kaci to move Team Asia to within two points from the 2024 Reyes Cup title.
Team Asia capped Day 3 of the 2024 Reyes on a high after Filipino star Carlo Biado and Singapore’s Aloysius Yapp overcame Team Europe’s Jayson Shaw and Eklent Kaci, 5-3, at the Ninoy Memorial Stadium in Manila on Thursday, Oct. 17.
It was a neck-and-neck duel between both squads with Shaw and Kaci securing the first point before Biado and Yap came through with a quick retort.
This went on until the seventh frame, tied 3-3, where an early error by Kaci gave Team Asia a window to pounce, which they did, as Biado and Yapp slotted in the racks to gain the upper hand.

In the eighth frame, Shaw and Kaci once again started off with a solid opening break but failed to convert on the second ball.
This led to another golden opportunity for the Asian tandem as they downed the balls left and right until the reigning World 10-Ball champion ultimately sealed the victory and Team Asia’s 9th point in the tournament.
Leading 9-3 in points, the Efren "Bata" Reyes-led Team Asia will need just two more victories to secure the championship, which will be decided tomorrow, Oct. 18, at the same venue.
