Dwight Ramos delivered a standout performance as Levanga Hokkaido defeated the Yokohama B-Corsairs on Sunday, 77-69, clinching a weekend sweep and marking their first winning streak of the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season.

In just his fourth game of the season after returning from injury, Ramos scored a season-high 19 points, adding three rebounds, three assists, and a steal to lead Hokkaido’s balanced attack.

After making his return with limited minutes in the previous game Saturda, Ramos saw over 25 minutes of action in this matchup, staying on the court throughout and providing a spark that Hokkaido needed.

He scored 11 points right in the opening period and his presence on both ends of the floor allowed Hokkaido to set the tone early and maintain their advantage, giving the team a confidence boost after a challenging start to the season.

The win moves Hokkaido to 4-7, and with Ramos finding his rhythm, they’ll look to build on this momentum moving forward.

Yokohama, despite 11 points from Kiefer Ravena, couldn’t overcome Hokkaido’s tenacity and dropped to 5-6 after the back-to-back losses.

In other games, Ray Parks Jr. had 18 points but the Osaka Evessa just couldn’t get over the hump against the Ryukyu Golden Kings, suffering a 95-84 loss.

Osaka dropped to 6-5 after also dealing with back-to-back losses.

In Koshigaya, Kai Sotto and the Alphas absorbed another tough loss, this time an 82-59 decision to the Sunrockers Shibuya.

While better than his previous game, Sotto just couldn’t quite find a rhythm opposite Akatsuki Japan ace Josh Hawkinson, finishing with six points and seven rebounds in the loss.

Elsewhere, Matthew Wright fired 15 points, to go along with four rebounds and seven assists but the free-fall continues for Kawasaki after taking an 89-67 loss to the Saga Ballooners.

It’s the fourth-straight loss for the Brave Thunders, and at 2-8, the team’s struggles is among the surprising development so far in the still-young B.LEAGUE season.
