The ‘ligang labas’ woes continue for the Elasto Painters.
First, Beau Belga. Now, it’s Nambatac.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters slaps the 5-foot-10 guard with a fine for participating in an unsanctioned exhibition game, the team announced on Wednesday.
The fine is worth two days of Nambatac's salary, according to the team statement. PBA veterans can get paid by as much as 420,000 a month. The salary of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights alum, however, is undisclosed.
Nambatac is the second player on the Rain or Shine roster fined for unsanctioned play this week, the first being Belga, who was fined 15 days worth of salary.
Nambatac’s case is unlike Belga’s for two things: first, the guard played a single unofficial game, while Belga was found to have played in three different locations, Davao, Cebu, and Laguna. The exact number of games is unknown.
Belga’s unsanctioned hooping also came to the surface through a controversial viral video, where the ROS big man and JR Quiñahan of the NLEX Road Warriors got involved in a scuffle. PBA says it is investigating the matter.
