Belo has been slowly finding his rhythm.
Slowly but surely, Mac Belo is finding his groove on the hardcourt. This time, it's for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
In his second game with ROS during the PBA On Tour, Belo once again displayed an impressive performance, finishing with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and an assist in the 121-95 win against Terrafirma Dyip on Sunday.
In the middle of this process is Elasto Painters head coach Yeng Guiao, known to be a good judge of talent who makes stars out of lesser known players.
And Belo is placing his trust firmly on the veteran coach to get back to his three-time PBA All-Star form.
"I'm very thankful and blessed kasi we know naman Coach Yeng, okay siya mag-develop ng players so work hard lang at kailangang sumunod lagi sa kanya," Belo said in an article on the PBA website. "As a player, 'yun naman 'yung gusto natin."
Last month, Rain or Shine acquired Belo from the Meralco Bolts in exchange for Norbert Torres. It was a move seen by the basketball community as a chance for Belo to rejuvenate his career.
Two games in, the 30-year-old forward is slowly gelling with his team, too.
"Medyo kinakapa ko pa nang kaunti, sa guide naman ng teammates at coaches, nakukuha ko naman unti-unti,” said the former FEU Tamaraw.
“Ang mindset ko, ibigay ko lang lagi best ko every game para makuha ko sistema ni coach Yeng [Guiao] at hopefully pagdating ng conference, makuha ko na,” he elaborated.
The Mac Belo comeback season may indeed be coming, and Rain or Shine fans have all the reason to be excited.
