It's been a long, arduous journey to recovery for the sweet-shooting former Adamson Falcon.
Roider Cabrera, who played in both in the PBA and the PBA 3x3, is continuing his slow recovery after collapsing after a game in November 2021 and falling in a vegetative state afterwards.
And the sweet-shooting big recently provided an update on his journey to recovery—along with a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been helping him through this now two-year ordeal.
“I just wanted to share with you my present condition,” Cabrera said in a post on his Facebook account. “Thru continuous therapy and medications, I am able to recover little by little, and of course, your prayers, support, and unconditional love help me a lot to face this challenge I’m on right now.”
Still weak and frail, Cabrera is nonetheless filled with gratitude and hope.
“With a grateful heart, I want to thank you for your constant prayers, love, and support. Your prayers help me stay in faith and give me strength to move forward each day. Indeed, I am beyond blessed to have a second chance at life,” Cabrera added.
That second chance at life, though, needs more help if it is to continue getting better.
“However, with the continuous medications and therapies, we, again, humbly knock into your hearts as any amount of financial assistance to support my daily medications and therapies will be much appreciated,” Cabrera appealed.
Cabrera, a former Adamson Soaring Falcon, has gone a long way since that fateful collapse. With a lot more help, Cabrera’s journey might have that well-deserved happy ending.
