PBA

James Laput has been having quite a campaign for the Magnolia Hotshots.

Once deemed a project piece, the much-improved center has been a reliable threat for the team on both ends.

Even though Magnolia comfortably remains atop the standings with a 9-1 record in the PBA Commissioner's Cup, the grind doesn’t stop for Laput.

On his Instagram Story, the 6-foot-10 big man posted a selfie of him working out with his sister Shevana even during Christmas vacation. No days off!

Maybe to burn all the spaghetti, macaroni salad, and lumpiang shanghai they consumed?

Laput and his sister sure have a thing in common, as Shevana also developed into a key revelation for the De La Salle Lady Spikers in UAAP Season 85.

In 10 games this conference, Laput has averaged 8.4 points on 58% shooting from the field, to go along with 5.0 rebounds.

It's clear that all the hard work and dedication have paid off for Laput, who saw scant minutes with the Terrafirma Dyip before getting picked up by Magnolia. His rise started during the PBA On Tour, and now, he leads the Hotshots frontcourt amid their dominant run so far in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

With the new year approaching, expect Laput and the rest of the Hotshots to turn it up even further, as they look to bring home the crown which was long evaded them.

Next for Magnolia will be a match against the Meralco Bolts on January 6 in Iloilo City.
