Chot Reyes is back as head coach for the flagship MVP franchise, the Tropang Giga announced Saturday.
Coach Chot returns to his original post after two conferences away, taking the reins for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Meanwhile, Jojo Lastimosa will be back as TNT team manager.
After almost a decade away, coach Chot returned to TNT in time for the 2021 campaign, leading the team to the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.
The Tropang Giga also then made it back to the 2022 Philippine Cup Finals, but ended up losing to San Miguel Beer in seven games. Reyes’ next TNT tour of duty comes in time for the next All-Filipino joust.
Coach Jolas, taking over as head coach for TNT late in the 2023 season, led the squad to the Governors’ Cup title with Best Import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
However, the Commissioner’s Cup campaign was not as fruitful, with a banged-up Tropang Giga losing to Magnolia in the quarterfinals as an 8th seed.
