On the day he turned 36 years old, Magnolia star Calvin Abueva got embroiled in a shouting exchange at the SM Mall of Asia Arena Sunday night.

It started when Abueva allegedly “smirked” at Mo Tautuaa’s wife, Aida, when the Kapampangan made his exit with his kids following Magnolia’s 103-85 loss to San Miguel in Game Two of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

“Ewan ko sa kanya,” Abueva said when asked by reporters what happened. “Dumaan siya rito, hinihintay ko 'yung anak ko. And then, 'Why the [expletive] are you smiling?' Tinanong niya 'ko.”

He later added: “Nandiyan ang mga anak ko nagga-ganun siya? Dumaan ako nang maayos, dadaan ka sa akin, sino ka?”

Tautuaa’s beau took to X to air her side regarding the verbal altercation.

“I had to walk past him to go to the restroom. He smirked at me, nodded his head up & down & said, “yeaaa” laughing,” she posted.

“I said “wtf is wrong with you” & kept walking. He walked after me and literally got in my face.”

She made it clear that “Calvin did not physically attack me.”

The commotion escalated anew after Abueva and his wife, Sam, came back and tried to confront the Tautuaas.

“Anuhin mo asawa mo, Mo, ah. [Expletive], gusto mo sapakan tayo, Mo?” Abueva was heard saying.

Abueva even challenged the San Miguel big man to a fist fight.

“Hey, [expletives] gusto mo sapakan tayo, Mo?” he said.

San Miguel consultant Leo Austria had to help pacify Abueva as the latter made his way back to the comfort room where Mo and his wife were.

In the end, cooler heads prevailed.

This occurred moments after the Beermen dismantled the Hotshots to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
