There’s nothing exactly at stake for San Miguel, but expect the Beermen to still go all-out in their final two games in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.

That begins at 4:30 p.m. today, May 1, when San Miguel--already secured the twice-to-beat incentive in the playoffs--squares off against Blackwater at the PhilSports Arena.

The Beermen are on the threshold of an elimination round sweep after staying unscathed in nine games, but coach Jorge Gallent insisted that’s far from their minds.

“Next goal is the 10th win. We’re going step by step,” said Gallent, whose team will honor San Miguel legend Arwind Santos in a brief jersey retirement ceremony at halftime.

“As of now we’re thinking of the 10th game, of Blackwater. If it (sweep) comes, it comes. But that’s not really in our minds.”

Unlike the Beermen, everything is on the line for the skidding Bossing.

At 3-6, Blackwater is looking to halt a six-game losing streak and stay in the hunt for the elusive playoff berth.

Speaking of playoff slot, TNT could clinch one if it beats also-ran Converge in the 7:30 p.m. tussle.

The Tropang Giga (5-4) have had a tumultuous conference so far, but they are looking to build on the 108-101 win over Phoenix in hopes of getting the outright quarterfinal berth.
