Terrence Romeo played a big role for San Miguel as it finally subdued Terrafirma in their PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup quarterfinal showdown on Wednesday, May 12.
Terrence Romeo's offensive arsenal was on full display in San Miguel's 110-91 win over Terrafirma in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup quarterfinal battle at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Wednesday, May 15
From timely jumpers to ooh-inducing ballhandling skills, Romeo looked like his old self on the court.
Coach Jorge Gallent deemed it so.
"Give all credit to him because he just came out playing. It’s like the old Terrence now," said Gallent of his prized ward, who fired 19 points.
Within a two-minute stretch in the fourth period, the flamboyant guard dropped seven points in the Beermen's 11-3 run as he hit a jumper, swished a trey and scored on a layup to help San Miguel establish a 92-76 lead with more than six minutes left to play.
But more than Romeo's offensive contribution, Gallent lauded the former Far Eastern U star's defensive effort in the match that enabled the Beermen to dash the overachieving Dyip's dreams and set up a semifinal clash against Rain or Shine, which punched its own ticket via a nailbiting 110-109 triumph over TNT later in the night.

"Terrence is a great player, offensively and defensively. He played well today both sides. He played well on offense, and he played well on defense today," said Gallent.
Now, Gallent hopes that the former UAAP MVP can sustain his fine play as San Miguel heads into a best-of-seven semifinals.

"We had to grind today to get this win. 'Yung score is nothing kasi it was really a tight match until the middle of the third or start of the fourth. It was a very good grind for us," said Gallent.
