Allen Durham still has some unfinished business with the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Governors' Cup.
The time is now for Allen Durham and Meralco?
That’s what they are hoping for as Durham is returning to the Philippines to once again don the Bolts uniform in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed this development on Wednesday, July 17.
“Yes, confirmed Durham (will be our import),” Trillo told One Sports in a text message.
However, he added that the former thre-time PBA Best Import is not yet in the country.
The hulking big man will once again reinforce a squad, led by Chris Newsome, Allein Maliksi, and Chris Banchero, which is fresh from their Philippine Cup conquest, a first in Meralco franchise history.

Coming off a stint in the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B.League, where he made three straight Finals and won a championship in 2023, Durham will definitely gun for the same winning result when the import-laced conference rolls along on August 18.
The 6-foot-5 import has always elevated Meralco’s play but couldn’t quite help the Bolts get over the hump in his previous tour of duty here.
In the 2016, 2017, and 2019 Governors’ Cups, he led Meralco to the Finals but lost each time against playoff rival Ginebra.
Perhaps this time it would be different, especially as him and the rest of the Bolts have experienced championships, albeit separately.
