CJ Cansino looks to add to the winning culture of newly-crowned PBA Philippine Cup champions Meralco Bolts.
After a successful stint in the UAAP, claiming a UAAP title with the University of the Philippines and making a Finals run with the University of Santo Tomas, CJ Cansino comes to the PBA, bringing his talent forth with newly-crowned Philippine Cup champion Meralco Bolts.
Cansino is aiming to carry his confidence built from his collegiate career, hoping to ace his rookie campaign as he looks to help the Bolts build upon their breakthrough PBA title.
Meralco seems extend the same confidence that Cansino can and will perform up to par, signing the 11th overall pick to a two-year deal.
Cansino will have the chance to prove he’s worth it, as the Bolts open the new PBA season with the Governors’ Cup Sunday, August 18.
Ahead of his potential PBA debut, Cansino shared his pre-game rituals with a light-hearted chat with One Sports.
“Kapag feeling ko kinakabahan ako, kailangan ko ng pampa-kalma. So, nakikinig ako ng mga Daniel Caesar,” he said on his pre-game choice of music.
“And pag tingin ko naman kalmado ako, makikinig ako ng mga party music [hype songs] ganon,” Cansino added, saying his choices depend on his mood for the moment.
Cansino’s UAAP career was a roller-coaster of emotions that included a school transfer and multiple near career-ending injuries.
But as he takes his next step into the pros, get ready to blast out “Best Part” because there’s no shushing CJ Cansino anytime soon.
