Jordan Adams is back in the San Miguel fold, helping the squad pick up its third straight win while keeping Phoenix winless in seven games in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Friday, Sept. 13.
It appeared Jordan Adams was trying to send a message that he does not want to go home yet.
That came in the form of a tour-de-force outing as San Miguel blasted Phoenix, 139-127, for a third straight win in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Friday, Sept. 13.
The Beermen now hold a 4-2 card while adding to the Fuel Masters’ misery as they are yet to come up with a win in seven tries.
Returning to the fold after being initially replaced by Sheldon Mac in San Miguel's previous 119-114 win over NLEX, Adams exploded for 49 points on a 16-for-27 shooting from the field and collared 11 rebounds.
The American reinforcement also dropped 19 points in the third period, including the four-point bucket that gave the Beermen a commanding 103-88 lead heading into the final period.
He would hit another from that range with 3:06 left to play to stop the bleeding for San Miguel and halt the Fuel Masters’ rally, 130-115.
“Very happy for his game now. It speaks [volumes about how] he’s really a great import,” said Beermen coach Jorge Gallent of Adams.
Adams, though, had plenty of help as well.
Perez produced 23 points, five rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a block while June Mar Fajardo also impressed with his 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
Marcio Lassiter fired five triples to move closer to being crowned as the league's three-point king. He finished with 16 markers.

The win spoiled a 48-point outing by Phoenix import Brandone Francis, whose seven straight points entering the final minute allowed the Fuel Masters to trim the gap to 125-136.
But there was very little time to mount a furious comeback after that.
Jason Perkins had 18 points and seven rebounds, Raul Soyud scored 12 and Ricci Rivero, 11, for Phoenix.
