Rain or Shine and San Miguel split their elimination round meetings in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
Rain or Shine put up a balanced attack and the Elasto Painters got back at San Miguel, 122-112, in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Thursday, Sept. 19.
The Elasto Painters, who avenged their narrow loss to the Beermen in the first round, now has a solo hold of the top spot in Group B it previously shared with its foe.
Rain or Shine upped its card to 7-2 while dealing San Miguel its third loss against six victories. The Beermen slid to joint second with Ginebra.
Beau Belga was hailed Best Player of the Game after churning out 16 points, five assists and four rebounds for the Elasto Painters, who ended an 11-game losing streak in a three-year span against the Beermen.
It was Andrei Caracut, though, who topscored for Rain or Shine with 20 points while Aaron Fuller chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Adrian Nocum and Gian Mamuyac added 16 and 12 points, respectively.
June Mar Fajardo was limited to just 14 points for San Miguel while CJ Perez fired 27 before riding the bench in the last 4:15 after incurring his sixth foul.
