Meralco's Aaron Black scored 15 points in his return from a meniscus injury he suffered last August.
Aaron Black was not supposed to play extended minutes in Meralco’s come-from-behind 111-109 win over Phoenix in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup on Friday, Nov. 29.
After all, Black was coming from a meniscus injury he suffered last August.
While physically ready, the son of multi-titled PBA coach Norman admitted there are some hiccups mentally.
“It’s really the mental side. Babalik kasi from a long time, hindi mo alam paano ka maglalaro,” said Black after the match at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate.

But with the Bolts dealing with injuries to key players, coach Luigi Trillo had no choice but to field him in longer.
It turned out to be the best decision, as Black contributed 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists in almost 29 minutes of play.

After the game, Black attributed his fine play to his teammates.
“I just credit the guys for finding me today. Easy shots off some good passes from my teammates,” Black said.
Though he was still not at full strength, Black is just glad to be back on the court again and make an impact for Meralco.
“It’s been a long way to get here. I’m glad I can get out on the basketball floor and help my team win,” he said.
Black and the rest of the Bolts go for 2-0 when they take on Rain or Shine on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
