The new PVL teams are here for the long term.
That’s what PVL president Ricky Palou told Noli Eala in Saturday’s episode of Power & Play on Radyo 5.
Palou said the Gerflor Defenders, Farm Fresh Foxies, and Foton Tornadoes have committed to “at least stay with us for three years.”
“We don’t want teams to come here and play in this conference and then move out and then come again later,” said Palou.
“So, we got their commitment that they’ll play in all conferences for at least the next three years.”
There are now 11 teams which will lock horns in the PVL Invitational Conference beginning on June 27.
To spice things up, Palou also bared a squad or two from Japan will also join the midseason conference. One already confirmed its participation.
“Right now, we’ve got confirmation from Japan; still waiting from confirmation from one of the other teams,” he said.
With this commitment from Farm Fresh, Gerflor, and Foton, things are looking brighter than ever for the country's premier volleyball league.
