The Creamline Cool Smashers seem set to welcome back their heart and soul Alyssa Valdez, who recently said that she is 100 percent physically already even though there remains some mental hurdles to overcome.

But given how hard the former MVP has been working to get back her old, fiery form, it might be a matter of time before Valdez breaks through mentally and realizes that she really is back.

And on Friday, Valdez shared on her Instagram a short video of herself in training, and it only underscores just how intense she has been in her journey to regaining her MVP form. It also shows the former Ateneo Blue Eagle looking physically healthy—moving fluidly with no apparent discomfort and elevating like the Valdez of old.

It does not mean, though, that Valdez is in any sort of rush.

“Taking it day by day. Staying patient & trusting the process,” wrote the country’s flag-bearer during the opening ceremonies of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Maraming salamat sa mga taong patuloy na tumutulong sa akin 🤗🙏🏻,” she added.

A Valdez return is sure to bring even more excitement to the PVL Invitational Conference, which will feature 13 squads competing for the crown—the most ever for the pro league yet. And if Valdez’s assessment that all teams are on equal footing this conference proves true, Creamline will need its leader more than ever if it is to defend the crown.

The PVL’s midseason tourney will open on June 27.
