These brave women wrapped up their campaign with a convincing victory.
Led by the evergreen Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, the Philippines settled for seventh place in the AVC Challenge Cup for Women in Indonesia.
After losses to Australia and Iran, the Filipina spikers wrapped up their campaign with a 25-14, 13-25, 25-18, 25-18 win over Uzbekistan on Sunday.
While Maizo-Pontillas showed why she still deserves a regular spot in the national team, the youthful Faith Nisperos also had a good showing in the competition.
That’s why @CMFT_Cyndi couldn’t wait to see her don the Akari Chargers uniform in the upcoming PVL Invitational.
"Ang ganda ng laro niya (Nisperos) sa AVC. Can't wait to see her playing with Akari," the Twitter user wrote.
Speaking of Akari, the team's official account voiced out what's probably the true sentiment of Chargers staffers.
"Uwi na kayo!" The playful post said. The mid-season conference starts in two days.
Shaya Adorador of new team Foton Tornadoes also got her flowers after an impressive showing.
"Sobrang reliable sa defense and offense," said @ChinoCruise.
It’s not exactly a failure of a campaign since the country rose in the rankings according to FIVB Women’s Volleyball World ranking.
@BonCalumay agreed, but didn’t discount the fact that it could have been better.
"We're very grateful 'cause may ranking na tayo internationally. But we know naman na meron pa tayong ibubuga," the netizen said.
Still, these volleybelles are grateful and beyond blessed with this recent tour of duty.
Fans are grateful for your service, too. Now let's shift our focus to the PVL.
