Sharma would be a huge addition to Akari, if ever.
Rumors have been circulating online that Fifi Sharma, who helped the De La Salle Lady Spikers win the championship of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament will no longer be at Taft.
Then, on Saturday, Sharma was seen live and in person at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City as former Ateneo Blue Eagle Faith Nisperos made her PVL debut for the Akari Chargers in the PVL Invitational Conference.
The story does not end there.
Sharma was actually rocking an Akari T-shirt, and she was sitting beside Mozzy Ravena, the Chargers’ team manager.
And, perhaps not coincidentally, Akari’s official Facebook page posted about Sharma’s visit.
“Look who’s here ,” the caption said. “Fifi Sharma is in the Home of the Akari Chargers.”
Akari’s Twitter page, meanwhile, tweeted about Sharma as well, and it did so twice.
“Invitational 2023 | AKARI vs PLDT | Set 1,” said one tweet.
“Surprise, surprise 🏹💚,” it added. “FIFI SHARMA IS HOME 🦄.”
The other tweet had this to say: “Now in the Home of the Akari Chargers ??🦄💖. Welcome Fifi Sharma 💚🏹.”
Should Sharma really be Akari-bound, she will be a huge addition to the rebuilding Chargers, who lost their PVL Invitational opener to the PLDT High Speed Hitters in straight sets, 25-15, 25-19, 25-22.
However, the earliest Sharma will be able to play for Akari is in the PVL’s season-ending third conference, as the league’s 11 local teams have already submitted their final lineups for the midseason tournament.
