Well, she is indeed an inspiration to many.
It’s no secret that Alyssa Valdez has become an inspiration to many aspiring volleyball athletes.
But it’s not just that. Apparently, Valdez has also inspired the creation of a comic book character.
On Instagram, the Creamline Cool Smashers star shared her meet-up with Mickey Ingles, the man behind Alinam 2: Diego Domingo and the Three Thieves.
One of the characters in the comic book is Kapitana Alyssa. Ingles, a fixture in sports circles for his practice of sports law, divulged that he named the character after the Creamline captain.
"She's one of the strongest characters dun sa book. Siyempre I named her after you because you're one of the strongest women I know," Ingles told Valdez in the video as he gifted the latter with an artwork of the character.
According to the post of Indie Pop Books, Kapitana Alyssa is "the spear-wielding leader of the Babaylan, a group of badass women warriors." Doesn't that just sound like the mighty yet fun-loving Cool Smashers?
It’s not every day that one gets to be a comic book character, making this a sweet surprise for Alyssa.
“It’s so nice. It just showed strength. It showed personality and character right away,” Valdez said pertaining to the artwork.
