Thailand's Est Cola returns to the Philippines after eight years, set to see action in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference alongside Japan's Kurashiki Ablaze.
Thailand's Est Cola is making a long-awaited return to the Philippines, set to compete in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference.
After an eight-year hiatus, Est Cola, last seen on Filipino soil in 2016, is set to electrify the local volleyball scene once again.
This time, Est Cola will join as one of two foreign teams in the six-team PVL Invitational field alongside defending champions Kurashiki Ablaze of Japan.
Joining the two foreign squads will be the Akari Chargers, Cignal HD Spikers, Creamline Cool Smashers, and the PLDT High Speed Hitters, who secured their spots after advancing to the semifinals of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.
The Est Cola team, composed of promising U-20 players from Thailand, will be expected to bring a fresh wave of youthful energy and talent to the PVL competition. They are expected to arrive in the Philippines on Monday, September 2.
Known for its rich volleyball culture, Thailand has consistently produced world-class players, and this new generation are eager to showcase their skills on an international stage.
Galeries Tower Highrisers import Sutadta Chuewulim notably played for Est Cola back in the 2016 Philippine Super Liga Invitational Cup, where they were hailed as co-champions with the RC Cola-Army Troopers.
For many Filipino volleyball fans, Est Cola’s return is not just about rekindling old memories when it competed in the PSL; it's also a chance to witness the future stars of Thai volleyball.
