Sisi Rondina looks to balance rest and recovery as she leads Choco Mucho Flying Titans in their bounce-back campaign in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
There hasn’t been much rest for Sisi Rondina in 2024.
After the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the 28-year-old outside hitter was called up by Alas Pilipinas, where she would play an integral part in the national team’s success in international tournaments.
However, not long after her stint with Alas, Rondina is back with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans for the extended All-Filipino Conference.
Despite her quiet performances to start the season, Rondina came alive in the Flying Titans’ four-set win over the Capital1 Solar Spikers, finishing with 23 points on 17 attacks, four blocks, and two service aces.
After the match, the superstar spiker admitted that she was dealing with fatigue, especially on her knees, amid Choco Mucho’s campaign.
“Personally, nag-suffer din ako sa knees ko. Pero wino-work ko na makabalik agad. Hindi naman 'yun rason but I think it’s the commitment naman din sa pagiging pro and siyempre sa national team. Tanggap lang ng tanggap and trabaho lang ng trabaho,” Rondina said during the post-game press conference
The Flying Titans are off to a strong start in the All-Filipino Conference, sitting with a 2-1 record.
This is a vast improvement from the squad after their poor performance in the 2024 Reinforced Conference, where they finished in ninth place without the former PVL MVP.

Now back with the team, Rondina acknowledges needing to lead the team once more in scoring, but she’s also focusing on helping Choco Mucho in other departments.
“Basta ang ginagawa ko lang ngayon nago-overload ako ngayon sa mga kailangan kong i-overload. Siyempre ta-tiyagain ko hanggang makuha ko ulit 'yung rhythm kasi I think pang-limang week ko pa lang nakabalik sa training and sa laro,” said Rondina, who had 12 excellent digs.
“Nagpahinga talaga ako ng like one month or mga one month and a half, kahit nahihirapan ako pero still binabalik ko siya sa training,” she added.
Luckily for Rondina, the Flying Titans will have a week off before their next match, which will be against the Cignal HD Spikers on November 28 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
