Alyssa Valdez is making leaps and jumps in her recovery from knee injury, quite literally. The captain of the Creamline Cool Smashers showed off her progress on Instagram, making slow but sure hops during rehabilitation.

She can even introduce a little spring in her step as she lifted weights, as shown by Rehub.ph

It's literally quite a jump from the first step she made more than a week ago, which made The Phenom quite emotional.

"Kahit pinapanuod ko lang sila it gives me hope to be back on court in no time!" She posted on Instagram.

Valdez earlier said she is taking her time to recover from the knee injury she sustained last December, admitting to One Sports that she is still far from 100 percent.

Coach Sherwin Meneses though is not shutting the door on the veteran's return, as she remains in the lineup for the All-Filipino Conference as team captain. Setter Jia De Guzman will stand as the leader on the court, while Valdez is recovering on the sidelines.

Creamline, the defending champion, is the only squad to remain intact during the off-season. They will immediately see action in the Premier Volleyball League's season-opener this Saturday, February 4, against recent Reinforced Conference winners Petro Gazz Angels at 6 PM.
