UAAP: Casiey Dongallo first to break 100-point mark in Season 86

Casiey Dongallo has arrived.

 

At the midway point of round 1 in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament, the UE rookie has already firmly established herself as a premier scorer.

 

Dongallo is the first to break the 100-point mark for the season, putting up 106 points built off of 101 attacks, four blocks and an ace.

 

In four games, the UE star already has a couple of records. First scoring 27 points for the highest-scoring debut by a rookie, and then putting up a 30-piece for the UAAP rookie scoring record.

Coming in second in scoring is fellow super rookie Angge Poyos of UST, who has 86 points from 73 attacks, eight blocks, and five aces.

 

Poyos' arrival helped boost the Golden Tigresses perfect start, as UST leads the league with a perfect 4-0 mark.

 

Completing the top-5 in scoring so far are Ateneo’s Lyann De Guzman (69 points), De La Salle’s reigning MVP Angel Canino (65 points), and NU’s Vange Alinsug (57 points).

 

In other individual categories, Poyos is also the top spiker with a 42.40 percent success rate, while Nina Ytang of UP is the current no. 1 blocker with an average of 1.07 per set.

 

Cassie Carballo is the no. 1 server with 11 aces, while also being the UAAP’s top setter with an average of 4.59 per set.

 

UST captain Bernadett Pepito leads the league in receives with a 56.36 efficiency rate, while UP’s Giesha Capistrano is the best digger so far with an average of 5.57 per set.
