NU Bulldogs standout Jolo Manansala powered his team to a thrilling 67-62 comeback win over the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball second round.
Manansala, named Player of the Game, led NU with 18 points on a sharp 66.7% shooting, sinking four of five triples. He also contributed seven rebounds and two assists in just 24 minutes, playing a pivotal role in NU’s late-game surge.
After erasing a 13-point deficit with a 20-7 run in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs secured their first back-to-back wins of the season, fresh off an upset over UP.
Jake Figueroa added 13 points—all in the second half—and PJ Palacielo chipped in 15 as NU improved to 4-8, keeping their slim Final Four hopes alive with two games left.
UST, meanwhile, slipped to 5-7 but holds on to fourth place.
