NU opposite spiker Alyssa Solomon was non-committal on when she will be able to return to action for the Lady Bulldogs after missing action against the Adamson Lady Falcons.
UAAP Season 86 Finals MVP Alyssa Solomon is currently nursing a mild ankle sprain on her left foot, causing her to miss out during the NU Lady Bulldogs’ game against the Adamson Lady Falcons in the second round of UAAP Season 87.
Forced to watch from the sidelines as NU suffered just its second defeat of the season, Solomon said that she suffered the injury on Saturday, which left her suddenly unavailable for the Lady Bulldogs on Sunday.

“Kahapon kasi during transition namin, nag-twist yung ankle ko. Ngayon, hindi pa siya medyo okay, pero hopefully tomorrow magkaroon ako ng check up sa doctor,” Solomon told media at the sidelines of the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Stepping up in her absence was sophomore hitter Arah Panique, who ended up with 10 points in the losing effort for NU.
Despite the loss, Solomon expressed pride in how Panique was able to contribute to the team.
“Ako very proud ako kay Arah kasi nakita ko kung paano niya in-embrace yung role na binigay sa kanya. Kinapos lang talaga yung team pero sa susunod, makukuha rin namin ‘yon,” Solomon said.
Even if she has trust in her teammates, it was still admittedly hard for Solomon to be stuck on the sidelines as her team competed.
“Ngayon, medyo sad [ako] kasi hindi ako nakapag-contribute sa team pero alam ko naman na kayang kaya ng team. Alam ko lahat sila mags-step up at may tiwala ako sa team namin,” Solomon said.
When it comes to her return, meanwhile, there wasn’t much Solomon could provide, especially as she has yet to see a doctor.
“Let’s see pa,” Solomon said on the timeline for her return.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday against the listless UE Lady Warriors. It remains up in the air if Solomon will be able to play or not.
