Do what’s best for you, young blood.
Jerom Lastimosa chose the Adamson Soaring Falcons over playing abroad to try and help his school reach the Final Four in Season 85. After achieving that goal, he was expected to finally go overseas like most of the talented young Filipino hoopers these days. Still, he decided to stay in San Marcelino for his final year.
But now, the King Falcon is training with Gilas Pilipinas, and he continues to impress. Once again, the chance at becoming an Asian import is on the table. He welcomes the attention from international scouts, but the dynamic point guard isn’t about to ignore the task at hand, which includes his studies.
“Kung bakit nag-stay ako is, I want to finish my studies talaga.
“Japan and Korea, apat na [teams].
Regarding his plans after Season 86, Jerom is dropping enough bread crumbs to give us an idea where he’ll be headed in the future.
The offers coming the 24-year-old floor general’s way is a testament to his hard work, tremendous talent, and immense potential. While we would love to see him strut his stuff in the UAAP, with Gilas, and eventually in the PBA, it is more important that Lastimosa would do things based on his best interest. If that means playing in Japan or Korea, then we’ll do our part, and wish him nothing but the best.
