Alas Pilipinas will apparently miss the services of Tots Carlos in the upcoming 2024 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Challenger Cup.
Tots Carlos will apparently miss the upcoming campaign of Alas Pilipinas in the 2024 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Challenger Cup, set for July 4 to 7 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Philippine women’s national volleyball team head coach Jorge Souza De Brito disclosed details about the situation of Carlos on Sunday, June 23.
“[Tots Carlos] plays good. She’s always been the one who we requested for us for the national team. But at the moment, she’s not there,” De Brito shared during the 2024 VNL Manila leg.
“Rebisco will release something [about this development soon]. What we’re expecting is to bring the guys who are really good at the same time.”
Carlos was among the recent additions in the Alas Pilipinas pool, alongside fellow Creamline star Jema Galanza, NU stalwarts Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon, and UE standout Casiey Dongallo, following the historic bronze campaign in the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup.
“We still have the same players. Of course, we’re gonna add but now for the lineup, we have 18 players including Jema, Belen who will join us now,” De Brito said.
"[The pool is] almost complete and we’ll find it out with these [18] players.”
Amid potential lineup additions, Alas Pilipinas continue to prepare for their do-or-die match against Vietnam in the knockout quarterfinals of the Challenger Cup.
“Since we have more time, we can now have better preparations. The expectations are supposed to be always high so we have to work really hard,” De Brito said.
