For his exceptional work for Gilas Pilipinas, Justin Brownlee was named as one of the All-Star 5 for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Riga, Latvia.

Brownlee was the lone Gilas player to make the team, joining Rihards Lomazs of Latvia, Jeremiah Hill of Cameroon, and the Brazil duo of Leo Meindl and MVP Bruno Caboclo.

Averaging 23 points per game, Browlee led the Riga OQT in scoring. Brownlee was also second in assists (6.3) and third in rebounds (8.3).

Gilas Pilipinas came two wins short of Paris 2024, losing in the semifinals to Brazil. Still, it was the closest the national team got of making the Olympics in a decade.

Behind Brownlee’s near triple-double of 26 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, Gilas Pilipinas upset host Latvia for the Philippines’ first win over a European team in six decades.
