A popular sports brand is helping deck out basketball fans with their very own personalized Gilas Pilipinas merch.
Gilas Pilipinas’ all-important sixth man is receiving a treat as the national team’s outfitter recently opened up its customization of jerseys available to fans and a line of fan merchandise just months since becoming the Nationals’ partner.
Sportswear brand adidas started outfitting all Gilas Pilipinas teams earlier this year and the men’s and women’s teams debuted their new kits during their respective stints at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup and the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.
Now, fans can involve themselves even more not just with customizable jerseys, but also all-new fan merchandise that bear the branding of Gilas Pilipinas.
With numerous tournaments heading the teams’ way, including the 2025 Southeast Asian Games later this year in Thailand, adidas felt that it was in good timing to launch the customization in partnership with Filipino sports brand Titan.
On Monday at Titan Fort, adidas launched the customization with Titan in the latter’s design studio with Director of Merchandising Raymond Canteras.
“We wanted to make it really accessible to fans.” said Gabby Dario, Brand Communications and Membership Manager of adidas.
“Of course, given the timelines, we were able to release the jerseys just in time for the Asia Cup. But, you know, going through all of these tournaments that Gilas gonna have over the past next few months, next few years, we want to make sure that there are options for fans.”
The fan merch line includes shirts, jackets, polo shirts, and drfit sandos that bear the Gilas Pilipinas branding, further involving the fans into the team’s image.
Philippines and beyond
While at the moment, merchandise — including the jerseys — are only available in the Philippines, Dario said that adidas is looking to roll out something for international fans as well.
With Filipinos flocking to watch Gilas wherever they play in the world, the outfitter said that they are eager to reach Filipinos far and wide, much like how much the love of basketball has put Filipinos both in the Philippines and abroad on various paths.
“We will be announcing something for fans overseas. Of course, we want to be able to release it over the next few months, years, in places where there's so many Filipinos.” she said.
“But we're really excited to announce that soon you will see it overseas.”
Currently, the Gilas Pilipinas jersey customization is available at Titan Fort in their Design Studio, while the fan merchandise is available through all channels of adidas — in-store and online, and other Titan doors across the Philippines.
The national team will be back in action later this year for the first window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in November.
