From now on, Patrick Aquino will give the Gilas Pilipinas Women his undivided attention.

This after Aquino stepped down as assistant manager of the Blackwater Bossing in the PBA last Thursday.

“Last day ko na nung Thursday game with Terrafirma,” Aquino, who resigned as head coach of the National University Lady Bulldogs last year after leading the team to six UAAP championship, told OneSports.ph on Wednesday.

Aquino said Blackwater owner Dioceldo Sy and team governor Silliman Sy supported his decision to “fully focus” on the national team.

“I have my blessing naman from boss Dio and gov Silliman and [they] wish me good luck. I know it’s been the longest time with the company and would like to thank him for everything,” he said.

There’s a lot of tournaments in line for the national team, including the Southeast Asian Games in May, where the hoopers are gunning for a historic 3-peat, as well as Asian Games in September.

“I can focus na with Gilas now which we have a lot of tournament in line this year,” he said.
