Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo headlined the athletes who showcased their highly-fit and toned figures in the Bench Body of Work fashion show on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
Joining Diaz in the event are Alas Pilipinas player Eya Laure, actor and former professional men’s volleyball player John Vic De Guzman, as well as Fil-Am footballer Anton Del Rosario.
Both Laure and De Guzman showcased their impeccable physiques. While Del Rosario, a former men’s national football team member, also flaunted his still-jacked 43-year-old body.
Meanwhile, Diaz, who got carried by three fashion models while sitting on a rod, admitted the act caught her by surprise but believed there's a deeper meaning to the sequence.
“Nabigla ako na bubuhatin ako pero pinapakita [noong pagbuhat] kasi how strong we are than now. Pinapakita din na hindi pwedeng ikaw lang magbuhat, kailangan buhatin ka rin namin,” the only Pinay Olympic gold medalist in weightlifting told News5.
Diaz also bared that she is still busy spending her time on weightlifting and family, focusing on spreading the sport that made her an global icon as much as she can around the country.
It was the second year of the “Bench Body of Work” runaway show after a seven-year hiatus.
